Resident. Originating from rock doves that were domesticated to provide food, they now breed freely in towns and cities. There are several colour forms. Diet is of grain and seeds, and also bread and other scraps found on the street.

Generally regarded as a pest, especially at Church Square (also known as Pigeon Square), people are requested NOT to feed them.
