Resident. Frequents farmland and grassland with hedgerows and scrub. Mixed diet includes invertebrates, plant material, birds and mammals.

A large black and white bird famous for snatching shiny things. 

Voice-Harsh chack calls and chuckles, rarely heard quiet musical warbling song.      

Habitat-Year round resident over most of Europe.    

Nest-Football-size dome of twigs, high in tree.    

Diet-Insects, small mammals, fruit, berries, carrion and, in the breeding season, the eggs and young of many species of birds.
