House sparrow

Common. Most often living near human settlement. Nests in a hole in a building, wall or in creepers. Feeds on grain, seeds and insects.

A chirpy little bird that would be regarded as particularly attractive were it not so common.

Voice: harsh chirrup, often repetitive.beginning with a repeated sweet sweet sweet.

Diet: Insects during the breeding season, at other times mainly cereals in agricultural districts.
