Dunnock

A common garden bird. Often overlooked due to its quiet habits, creeping around under bushes and thick vegetation hunting for insects.                            

Sometimes mistakenly called the Hedge Sparrow, although it is unrelated to the sparrows.    

Voice-Strident piping seek call; brief but melodious snatches of song. 

Habitat-Year-round resident over much of Europe.       

Nest-Well-concealed grass cup in shrub.     

Diet-Mainly seeds in winter, but with insects, spiders, and worms taken in summer.
